KI-NEO - Karolinska University - lecture hall

One of Stouenborgs very large and comprehensive projects was for the Swedish Karolinska Institute, which is one of Swedens largest universities and, in addition to housing the Nobel Committee, is also known for world-class medical research and teaching. The newest addition to the institute is the Neo building, which houses both research and teaching facilities. Construction started in 2016, and in a state-of-the-art center for biomedical research, the technology must of course also be top notch. It supplied Stouenborg in the form of two large Constellation systems from Meyer Sound, which were installed in the buildings lecture halls.

The Constellation systems are extensive acoustic systems, which are usually used for larger venues such as concert halls, theaters and much more. Using them in a teaching context means that all students will be able to get the most out of every lecture, regardless of where they sit in the room. Because small microphones and speakers are placed discreetly throughout the lecture hall, the teachers voice is picked up clearly and without noise and can be heard clearly in all corners and nooks of the hall. And if the students have questions, everyone in the room will also be able to hear both questions and answers, without the use of hand-held microphones or anything else that could disrupt the flow of the lesson.

Installing the extensive systems required a lot of hard work and Stouenborgs installation team had to run 40km of cable, install 360 Meyer Sound loudspeakers, 200 DPA microphones and 6 large 42-unit racks with Meyer Sounds D-Mitri system. The work took a total of 30 months, and with persistent effort, the new high-tech lecture halls managed to be ready just before the start of the semester, in May 2018.

It is also possible to read about the project we did at the KPMG auditorium.
